I don't always dream about the movie I saw in the previous 24 hrs, but it sometimes happens if the subject matter meshes with what's on my mind, I guess. Thus the following dreams:
1. Some kind of vast structure, like a dirigible hangar, out in a wooded, hilly area. Inside is a whole city or environment populated by "monsters" and humans trying to avoid them. There are networks of catwalks and park-like areas. I'm trying to rescue somebody but have picked up a "tail" and am now trying to escape. Long chase scene. I help some children to hide. I need help! Eventually my friend "Hellboy" shows up and together we battle some monsters and get the heck out of there. It helps that I can fly...
2. Now we're in a big city that vascilates between Seattle and San Francisco. Cheryl has tickets to some exhibition at the Seattle Center. We have to be there at a certain time. I go to look for Hellboy down some dark alley. We've been working together. Some kind of action happens here but I forget what, but it is successful. We go back to SE Lake Union and meet up w/ Cheryl and some others. We have to hurry to make our slot. "Don't worry!" I say, "We'll just fly there! Everybody hold hands." We start to rise into the air, then I say "Let's break in to teams." I hold on to Hellboy, everybody else breaks in to units of two or three and we head out. That's a first!
We make it to the exhibition. Of interest is the fact that my sister Cheryl is very patient and kind in this dream (not that she isn't in real life, but my subconscious often makes her very young and annoying).
3. I'm supposed to be babysitting some little girl. I'm in a huge housing development, it's daytime. This little girl is a brat, and I need help with her. Hellboy shows up and devises some games and tells stories to this little girl. She thinks he's great! Flash forward to this kid's future; she's become a very competent young lady and is piloting a yacht for some client. They are steaming through Portage Bay, and the owner radios up to the wheelhouse to go faster. She dutifully pushes the throttle forward, but now the boat is leaving a large wake. I start to tell her that the speed limit is 6 knots through here, and there's a "leave no wake" policy, when we start to pass the Sea Scout Base. There is smoke and people running around. I hear "level 5 emergency!" from somewhere. We pull in and I jump onto the dock.
There's a funny looking steel boat, about 60' long or so, sunk halfway down into the water next to the dock. Kind of rounded like the Kalakala. There are people trapped inside. I ask one of the Scouts what happened. "Somebody sent a package. It was a uniform. (so and so) took it onboard and (a group) were looking at it when it started to go off!" Apparently it exploded or burst into flames so that the group were instantly incinerated. This either triggered some other event or there was another package on board, because the hull was breached and the boat quickly settled. There were some kids trapped in the forepeak with an air pocket.
"Don't worry" I said, "we'll get them out!" I needed Hellboy and Abe (the fish guy), but until they arrived I would have to go it alone. I tool a big wrench and prepared to swim down and look for a solution. I could hear the people inside calling for help... woke up for a few minutes
4. Back in the city. I was going somewhere but was short bus fare by fifty cents. Hellboy fished out some quarters and dropped them in my hand: $1.75! I knew better than to give him back the extra. That kind of generosity was apparently his MO and not to be questioned. "See you later!" I felt happy.
